Norfolk Club Postal League

We have decided as a county to initiate an inter club postal league this winter to encourage some friendly inter club competition and to encourage archers and clubs to start to think about shooting and supporting other clubs within the county’s competitions.

We are also hoping to increase the number of archers who put their name forward to represent the county in competitions further afield.

The competition for this winter will take the form of a Portsmouth postal league, in the same sort of variation as the BA Postal league which I know some of the county’s clubs already participate in.

The teams will be available in four different bow types:

Compound – team comprising of three archers any gender
Recurve – team comprising of three archers any gender
Barebow – team comprising of two archers any gender
and
Longbow – team comprising of two archers any gender

There will be no fee for clubs to enter teams and at this stage we are not sure if there will be any prizes – except the pride of the winning club in each category.

Please can clubs let myself know if they would like to enter the competition so that I can gauge the interest for each discipline, so far I have already received verbal interest from five clubs within the county – it would be great if all clubs participated in at least one discipline. There will be a different league for each discipline.

The scores from each club will be collated at the end of the month and points awarded as below for each discipline:

10 points for the winning club
6 points for second place
4 points for third place
2 points for fourth place
1 point for fifth place

The competition will take place from November to March, with scores required each month to be received by the organiser by 2nd of the following month.

I can be contacted by email at rachel@aj-photo.co.uk or by telephone on 07875725982.  Once we know how many clubs are interested I will send all clubs a score sheet which can be used each month to send their teams scores to me.
